Get to Know Your Editor
Do any of you cringe and grit your teeth as you read online content, shaking your head at the lack of command of the English language? I do, and that "nails-on-a-chalkboard" sensation that ripples through my body every time has contributed much to my decision to pursue the art of proofreading and editing.
I'm a retired registered nurse, and I have been writing professionally for 11 years, with three published books under my belt: a picture book for children 2-6 years old called "The Giggle Box," a book for early elementary school age children, "The Town of Alpaca," and an adult memoir for a survivor of domestic violence, "The Prettiest House on the Block - A Revealing Story of Domestic Partner Abuse." Assisting with editing for my upcoming fourth book, "We Got Your Back - Meet the Dynamite Six," a young adult novel, solidified my interest in editing, as I gained hands-on experience in the process.
